Despite hopes for a European tournament, Napoli’s recent form has failed them, with just one point from their last four matches.

The absence of key players like Piotr Zielinski and Leander Dendoncker further compounded their challenges, although Giacomo Raspadori and Mario Rui returned to the bench.

Bologna exploited Napoli’s defensive weakness to break the deadlock, with Dan Ndoye nodding in from close range after a chaotic occurrence in the Napoli box.

Stefan Posch doubled Bologna’s lead three minutes later, heading home from a Kacper Urbanski corner.

Napoli had an opportunity to claw their way back into the game when Victor Osimhen won a penalty, but Matteo Politano’s spot-kick was saved by Federico Ravaglia, marking Napoli’s fourth penalty miss of the season.

Despite Napoli’s efforts to mount a comeback, Bologna’s defense and goalkeeper Ravaglia held off any trouble, including a fingertip save to deny Osimhen.
