43-year-old Catholic Priest found dead after spending night in hotel with alleged girlfriend

A 43-year-old Catholic priest, identified as Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Monalisa Hotel Delview in Gatanga, where he was accompanied by his alleged girlfriend.

The priest had checked into the hotel on Friday evening in the company of a woman described as his girlfriend.

Authorities were alerted when the priest’s girlfriend rushed him to Kenol Hospital after he started feeling unwell on the morning of July 8.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku was pronounced dead. The priest, who had been accompanied by his girlfriend, was discovered lifeless in his car, which had been used to transport him to the medical facility.

Startlingly, his body was found in the back seat, partially covered with a hotel bedsheet, and there were signs of white foam oozing from his mouth and nose. The exact cause of his death remains unknown.

Police officers who responded to the incident have since secured the body and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the priest’s demise. The woman, described as the priest’s girlfriend, is being questioned by authorities to gather more information about the events leading up to his death.

The police report indicates that the duo had checked into the hotel on Friday evening but the priest began feeling unwell the following morning.

In their ongoing investigation, authorities have taken the food and drinks consumed by the priest and his girlfriend during their stay at the hotel for further analysis. The purpose of this analysis is to ascertain whether any substances present may have contributed to the priest’s untimely death.
