Bayern Munich win Fifa Club World Cup

Bayern Munich claimed Fifa Club World Cup honours with a 2-0 victory over Moroccan hosts Raja Casablanca in the final on Saturday night.

The European and German champions won thanks to first-half goals from Dante and Thiago Alcantara at Marrakech Stadium.

Dante netted the opener barely six minutes in, heading home a Jerome Boateng flick-on following a corner from Xherdan Shaqiri.

Alcantara got the second goal in the 22nd minute, blasting in from the edge of the box after being smartly teed up by David Alaba.

Earlier, Clube Atletico Mineiro, of Brazil, took bronze with a dramatic 3-2 defeat of Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande.

Substitute Luan netted the winning goal in stoppage time, not long after his teammate Ronaldinho was red-carded for an ugly two-legged stamp.

The opening stanza ended 2-2, with Diego Tardelli and Ronaldinho netting for the South American champions, while Muriqui and Dario Conca were on target for the AFC Champions League winners.
