CAF shifts Enyimba-Wydad clash by 24hrs due to travel delays

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rescheduled the second leg match between Wydad and Enyimba.

The African Football League quarterfinal game which will now be played on Thursday, is in response to the delayed arrival of Enyimba in Casablanca, Morocco.

Enyimba was initially scheduled to arrive in Morocco on Monday, but they encountered issues obtaining landing permits from Moroccan authorities.

The team had boarded their plane at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Monday evening but faced an extended wait before disembarking early the next morning.

“The airline booked two hotels for us even though it was difficult before we were checked in.

“We’re still in Lagos and don’t even know if or when we would fly out because the landing permit is yet to be received,” Guardian Nigeria gathered from a source within the team,

Upon lodging a complaint with CAF, and after conducting investigations into the situation, the African Football governing body took the initiative to postpone the match by 24 hours.

The rescheduled game is now set for tomorrow in Casablanca at 7:00 p.m.
