Chelsea owner set to offload Lukaku, Arrizabalaga to cover financial losses

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly engaged in discussions with Saudi Pro League chief Michael Emenalo for player sales.

GistReel gathered that the deal will potentially take place in the upcoming transfer window.

Among the players Boehly is considering offloading to the Middle East is striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgium forward has been on loan at Inter Milan and Roma after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is currently on loan at Real Madrid, is also on the list of exits.

Boehly aims to generate £100 million in player sales this summer to offset financial pressures, especially after Chelsea recorded an annual loss of over £90 million, as revealed talkSPORT.

Despite significant investments in players last summer under manager Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea’s performance in the Premier League has been underwhelming.

They currently sit 11th place, with very slim chances for any European competition next season.

While they reached the Carabao Cup final, losing to Liverpool, Chelsea hope to keep their hopes of silverware alive as they face Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
