Dino Melaye Drags Sahara Reporters with N5bn Suit

Senator Dino Melaye Reportedly Bribed His Way and Never Graduated from Ahmadu Bello UniversitySenator Dino Melaye, the Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district has instituted a N5 billion libel suit against SaharaReporters, an online media platform.

The Senator who represents Kogi West took the action against the online news platform for alleged defamation of character, wrongful accusation, among other charges following allegations levelled against him by the platform.

A report on SaharaReporters alleged that Melaye did not complete his first degree in Geography at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

The platform caught the attention of the Senate on Tuesday, leading to its decision to refer the matter to its Ethics and Privileges Committee for investigation.

The committee was directed to investigate the claim that Melaye not possess an authentic first degree certificate from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Dino Melaye while reacting said he got his first degree several years ago and that his name was being smeared by those against his rising political profile.

The suit, according to his media office, was filed at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, on Wednesday.

  1. He would have waited for the out come of the investigations from the ethic and privilege arm of the national assembly before heading for court. Or is he apprehensive of the out come.

  4. Sahara reporters lacks credibility. Their reportage is full of yellow journalism. They are not reporting to stay in the business, maybe, they want to go with this administration.

    • Is not the issue, the issue is for them to be objective in their reportage, no matter who is involved. But, to you as a learned person, do you see anything wrong in this administration? If you have not seen, maybe, you don’t want to say the truth.

  5. I was among the 99 set at Black Gold orientation camp kilometre 16 Kaduna express way. And I must tell you sincerely Dino served with us right there. He was even the one that makes our camping very interesting with his jokes and other things. If i’m not mistaken he was in platoon 2 then.He was everywhere at the orientation camp then.He even taught us some song in Hausa language. So what are saying.
