Born of Cardiff and schooled in Southampton, Gareth Bale has just completed a dream world most expensive transfer move in football history.
As a youngster in the Southampton academy, Bale was almost let go due to his numerous injury problems but a good performance alongside friend and roomate Theo Walcott in the under- 18’s final game earned him a lifeline.
Gareth Bale made a switch to Tottenham in the summer of 2007 for a fee of just $5 million and he worked his way upfront from his normal defensive role until he became a threat to all opponents with his super strikes.
The Welshman has been on the radar of Real Madrid since last year but he has finally completed a move to join the star studed Galacticos with a record breaking £85.3 million.
In an official statement released on Tottenham’s website, Bale has thanked all the staffs of his former club for their friendship and loyalty.
“I would like to thank everyone at the club. The chairman, the board, staff, coaches and the players. And I would love to thank the fans of the club specially” Gareth Bale said.
