Idahosa wins Edo APC governorship primary

Hon Dennis Idahosa, the representative for Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has just been declared the winner of the APC governorship primary election in Edo State.

 Announcing the results, the governor of Imo State, Sen Hope Uzodinma who is the chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee said Idahosa polled a total vote of 40,483 to become the flagbearer of the APC in the September 21 governorship election in the state.

He said that having polled the highest number of votes among the nine aspirants, the House of Rep member becomes the candidate for the party.

 He said there was a mix up at to where the Secretariat of the committee was, noting that the Protea Hotel and not the Lushville Hotel where results were announced earlier today was the authentic Secretariat.

Meanwhile suspected political thugs on disrupted the coalition of results of the APC for the governorship election in Edo State.

 The collation was ongoing at Lushville Hotel and Suite, in GRA, Benin.

Results from eight local government areas had already been announced when journalists covering the event were alerted to vacate the centre of the event.

Some Journalists were attacked by the suspected thugs despite the presence of security operatives.

As at the time of this report, some people whose identities cannot be immediately confirmed are about briefing the media at the residence of a former governorship aspirant, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
