Palmer breaks seven-year spell with hat-trick in Chelsea’s thrilling 4-3 win against Man United

Stamford Bridge was left in awe as Cole Palmer’s101st minute strike handed Chelsea their first win against Manchester United in seven year.

Palmer’s hat-trick in the encounter etched his name in the Red Devils folklore, turning around what was already considered a defeat to victory.

Manchester United found themselves trailing 2-0 early on, after goals from Conor Gallagher and a spot kick from Palmer put Chelsea ahead.

They found their way back with goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes just before halftime, to level the score at 2-2.

In the second half, Garnacho gave United the lead after nodding home Antony’s outside foot cross, bringing the game to 3-2.

However, the drama was far from over. With eight minutes added time, a bungling challenge from Diogo Dalot gifted Chelsea a penalty, which Palmer confidently converted to complete his brace and leveling the score.

But Palmer wasn’t done yet. Just before the final whistle, Palmer unleashed a speculative strike that deflected off Scott McTominay and found the back of the net.

This sealed a last-gasp winner for the West London side, leaving fans at Stamford Bridge stunned, including coach Mauricio Pochettino.

The encounter also marked Chelsea’s first win against Manchester United since 2017.
