The Blaugrana chief made the comments at the launch of a new book, which profiles the club’s connections to Catalan culture and politics.
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has described the Camp Nou outfit as “the world’s most transparent club”, and hailed the Liga giant’s commitment to its ‘more than a club’ motto.
The Blaugrana are the subject of a new book which profiles the club’s connections to its Catalan cultural and political roots, issues which have recently come to the fore once again, as talk of independence surfaces in the region.
Speaking at the launch of the publication on Thursday, Rosell praised four-time European champions’ continuing efforts to make the stories behind the club more accessible.
“Barca is more than a club and will be for its entire history,” he told reporters.
“At Barca you know everything, we are probably the world’s most transparent club. Lluis Lainz [author of this book] has helped make this so, explaining the stories that have taken place behind closed doors.”
Barcelona faces Spanish champion Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the new Liga season on Sunday.
